The Courtyard Mobile Home Park

The rising quality levels of mobile home fit and finish continue to astonish. Once inside today's high end mobile home one could be forgiven for supposing he is in a high end site built home. Manufacturers have done an amazing job bringing mobile home interiors up to modern and, increasingly, minimalist standards. Where there may still be room for improvement is on the outside, is with the landscaping and siting of the homes. To that end VRT has done a very quick study for a possible configuration where each mobile home is given its own mini compound and courtyard on somewhat oversized lots compared to those found in most mobile home parks. VRT is seriously bullish on manufactured homes, hoping that a large proportion of buyers who now only consider site built homes could be brought round if manufactured homes were available on lots with thoughtful landscaping, generous decking, integrated storage, all arranged in courtyard centric compounds which afford privacy and indoor / outdoor living.

In this quick study, each lot is given a long, narrower mobile home for bedrooms and baths, and a double wide for living and dining. In the rear is a spacious deck while the front provides a walled garden with spa. As shown the driveway has room for 4 cars and is located next to a storage shed with overhanging roofs on each side. On the right the roof creates a carport while on the left it covers the spa area.
