The Capsules: A 12Plex Manufactured Horizontal Apt

Manufactured housing is half the price of site built AND can build dwellings as small as desired with no loss of efficiency, unlike the case with site built homes which must be a certain minimum size to remain profitable. With a mind for going seriously small I take up the challenge of packing the most apartments as I can into a 16' x 78' singlewide manufactured subject to a short list of requirements. Each must have some semblance of a kitchen, a toilet, a shower, a desk, a bed. Each apartment had a max length of 15', 7' width, and max height of 9.5' taking advantage of the 'attic' space in manufactured homes. The result was a very small but workable layout - with the option to have a washer and dryer in the storage space which measures 12' x 4' x 9'. Unlike the case with multistory, each apartment is fitted with a small, private ground level terrace.
