Diagonal 3 Bed 2 Bath Mobile Home Park
Placing mobile homes at 45 degrees to the street greatly simplifies installation and reduces the required width of park streets. Here is such a layout for 3 bed, 2 bath homes of 16 ft wide, 70 ft long. A 'crossmod' strategy is used providing a 2 car carport with room for 1 additional car in the driveway. Integral to the carport is generous closed shed storage and elevated seating area running along the street.
The thought was to use cam lock modular sip panel construction for the carport and storage for easier assembly and disassembly if required in the future. One such cam lock system is manufactured by EcoPanels Of Tennessee:
The 'trapezoid' shaped lots are around 55 ft wide, and an average of 130 ft deep for lots of around 7,000 sq ft. This works out to around 6 lots per acre. The design shown makes serious use of the courtyard, fitting in outdoor kitchen, dining, and lounge along with room for a spa / hot tub if desired. Retractable awnings add color and charm, are versatile, and surprisingly reasonable in price.
Considerable attention has also been given to landscaping. Abundant trees and flowers are worked in and along with the crossmod raised terrace and a bit of wall art go along way toward creating a modern, serene curb appeal, in stark contrast to the huddled, exposed feel of the typical mobile home park:
By decking out mobile home units with private courtyards, modern aesthetic curb appeal, and pleasant outdoor living space the hope is to convince the middle class to check out manufactured and see if it doesn't actually check off everything on their homebuying shopping list for half the price of site built.
