Amazing European Design

The latest interior design trends coming out of Europe are fabulous. With the adroit choice of palette and form interior design has undergone both simplification and more pleasing aesthetic. Check out this short documentary on the 2017 Living Kitchens design exhibition held in Cologne.

The kitchen, according to this video, is becoming the new living room, the focal point of household activity. The challenge is to combine this with the traditional open plan living room bequeathed us by Frank Lloyd Wright dramatized in his New York Exhibition House of 1953.

In these Sketchup drawings Wrights living room centerpiece, the long builtin bench sofa, is re-imagined and reworked in the contemporary Eurostyle. This combines the best of each and has the advantage of being fabricated as knock down flat pack panels easily assembled on site.
